Transmission fluid on V6 Auras: GM's recommendation for the 6-speed automatic is often interpreted as 'lifetime fill' — but in Utah's heat cycles, the fluid degrades faster than that language implies. We recommend a drain-and-fill every 50,000–60,000 miles to prevent the shudder and shift quality issues that come from neglected fluid.
Brake pulsation on the Aura: if your Aura's brake pedal pulses when you apply moderate pressure at highway speed, your front rotors are warped. This is a very common complaint on this platform. Resurfacing rotors that are already near minimum thickness is a short-term fix — replacement is the better investment.
Utah emissions and the Aura: the 2.4L Ecotec is fairly clean but the catalytic converter does degrade over time. If you have a P0420 code before your Utah emissions test, get a proper diagnosis first. We see plenty of Auras where an O2 sensor replacement clears the code — no need for a new cat.
