Timing belt by age on the Axiom: no Axiom is less than 20 years old. If you've purchased one without service records, assume the timing belt needs replacement regardless of the odometer reading. The 3.5L DOHC is an interference engine and the rubber belt degrades with age. We've seen old belts fail at low mileage simply because the rubber had hardened and cracked. Don't gamble with an interference engine.
