FX owners: the timing chain on your VQ engine is the most expensive thing to let go wrong. A $50 oil change every 5,000 miles is the best investment you can make in chain longevity. Use full-synthetic.
FX AWD rear differential fluid is separate from the transmission fluid and is commonly skipped at standard shops. Have it changed every 30,000 miles — it's inexpensive insurance against AWD coupling wear.
