Utah's dry climate is easier on body panels but hard on rubber. Inspect your Prelude's coolant hoses and radiator cap every spring — the temperature swings between January and July are extreme, and old hoses swell and split at the fittings.
H22A Preludes should have their timing belt replaced every 90,000 miles or seven years — whichever comes first. In Utah, where cars sit through cold winters and bake in summer, the time-based interval matters as much as mileage.
If your Prelude has been sitting unused, have the brake system inspected before driving. Utah's low humidity keeps surfaces dry but doesn't prevent caliper seals and flex hoses from hardening and cracking with age.
