What is GM AFM lifter failure?
Active Fuel Management (AFM) deactivates cylinders for fuel economy. The special AFM lifters can collapse, causing misfires and ticking. It affects 5.3L and 6.2L V8 engines in Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, and Escalade. We replace all 16 lifters and can disable AFM.
Which GM vehicles have the timing chain issue?
