First-gen RDX owners (2007–2012): the K23A1 turbo engine is oil-sensitive. Stick to the 5,000-mile oil change interval and use the correct 5W-20 specification — extended intervals can accelerate turbo wear and sludge buildup, especially in Utah's summer heat.
Second-gen RDX timing belt service (2013–2018 V6): the factory interval is 90,000 miles or 7 years. Utah canyon driving adds heat cycles that accelerate belt wear. If you're over 80,000 miles and haven't done it, now is the time.
