Why Acura NSX Drivers Choose Scott's Auto

NSX owners don't bring their cars to just anyone — and they're right to be selective. We approach NSX service methodically: we read the service documentation, use the correct procedures, and give you honest information about what your specific car needs. This is not a vehicle for guesswork.

Classic Honda Engineering Respect

The C30A and C32B engines are precise instruments. We follow Honda's service procedures, use the correct fluids, and don't improvise on a platform this specific.

Timing Belt Specialists

The NSX uses an interference timing belt. We perform the full service — belt, water pump, tensioner, and seals — at the correct 60,000-mile interval.

Manual Clutch Expertise

Many first-gen NSXs are six-speed manuals. Clutch work on a mid-engine car requires care and experience — we do it right.

No Surprises Policy

Free diagnosis, written estimate, and your approval before any work begins. For a vehicle this valuable, you deserve complete transparency.

When to Bring Your Acura NSX In

If your NSX is showing a check engine light, exhibiting clutch slip, or needs routine service, we start with a thorough inspection and code scan. You get a written estimate before any work begins — this is a platform that deserves methodical attention, not rushed diagnosis.

Timing Belt Service

The C30A/C32B NSX uses an interference timing belt requiring replacement every 60,000 miles. We do the complete job — belt, water pump, tensioner, idler, and seals.

Clutch Replacement

Six-speed manual NSXs eventually need a clutch. It's more involved than a front-engine car but well within our capability. We replace disc, pressure plate, and resurface the flywheel.

Brake Service

NSX brakes are a critical safety system. We service front and rear pads, rotors, and brake fluid to spec — and recommend fluid flushes more frequently for driven cars.

Learn more →

Water Pump Replacement

The NSX timing belt water pump is always replaced with the belt. Skipping it on a vehicle this age is not a risk we'd recommend taking.

Check Engine Light

NSX check engine codes range from O2 sensor wear to VTEC system issues. We diagnose accurately and repair with appropriate parts for a vehicle of this caliber.

Suspension Service

Classic NSX suspension geometry is precisely engineered and responds to worn bushings and struts. We inspect and service to restore the handling the car was designed to deliver.

Who to Trust for Acura NSX Repair in South Salt Lake

Most NSX owners have heard the stories of poorly executed repairs on these cars. We take NSX service seriously: we read the procedure before we start, use the correct tools, and treat the car with the respect a vehicle of this significance deserves. We're not the biggest shop in the valley, but we're careful and honest — which matters more on a car like this.

If you drive your NSX, keep driving it — but do the maintenance on schedule. A timing belt failure on an interference engine is catastrophic, and the C30A/C32B is not an inexpensive engine to rebuild. We'll make sure the critical service intervals are met and give you confidence that your car is being looked after correctly.

Acura NSX Maintenance Tips for Utah Drivers

Utah's temperature swings, mountain roads, and high altitude put unique demands on your vehicle. Here's what we've learned from years of servicing Acura NSXs in the Salt Lake Valley.

Classic NSX timing belt service is due every 60,000 miles or 6 years — whichever comes first. Utah's altitude means slightly lower ambient pressure, which doesn't significantly affect belt wear, but the temperature extremes here (especially cold winters) can make aged belts brittle. Don't push past the calendar interval.

Manual NSX clutch life depends enormously on driving style. If the car is a weekend driver, a clutch can last 80,000+ miles. If it's driven hard at track days, significantly less. Either way, clutch slip at high RPM is the sign to bring it in — a worn clutch left too long damages the flywheel.

NSX brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years regardless of mileage. The rear-engine weight distribution means front brakes do heavy work, and fresh fluid with a high dry boiling point matters on a car this capable. Don't skip it.

What Our Customers Say

Real reviews from Google — 5 stars across the board

★★★★★

“My Ford F-150 needed a new Fuel Pump and a Timing Belt Replacement. Scott's Auto was very quick at diagnosing the problem and turning the truck around quickly. This is such a reliable, honest auto mechanic shop.”

★★★★★

“Took my grandson's car in to have the clutch looked at. We thought it might need a new clutch. Scott explained the level of wear and thought it was premature to replace it. He could have just said it needed a new clutch and I wouldn't have blinked an eye. I appreciated the honesty. Only needed a clutch adjustment. I also had him wire up a new set of fog lights and they look and work great. He will definitely get our business in the future.”

“I have been to Scott to fix my truck on numerous occasions and I have never had to go back because he didn't actually fix it. He fixes everything the first time, period. I will be going to Scott as long as I need help with my vehicle. And he charges decent prices for his fixes.”
